Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and Head of the State Delegation Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović announced that the screening process would be completed by the end of the year for the following seven chapters of the acquis communautaire: Science and Research, Education and Culture, Public Procurement, Competition Policy, Right of Establishment and Freedom to Provide Services, Free Movement of Capital, and Agriculture and Rural Development. The screening process is an evaluation of the compatibility of Croatian legislation with Community law. It provides an analytical overview of the degree of harmonisation of Croatian legislation with the acquis communautaire of the EU.
Vladimir Drobnjak, Head of the Negotiating Team, introduced thirteen members of the Team and the heads of the Working Groups, each of them responsible for one of the 35 chapters of the acquis communautaire.
Each member of the Negotiating Team is responsible for one of thirteen Negotiating Groups, which consist of several Working Groups dealing with related subject matter.
Besides its negotiators, Croatia also has a special advisor for the negotiations, Mr Franz Fischler, who served for a long time as European Commissioner for Agriculture.
