Eighth meeting of Intergovernmental Conference on the level of deputy heads of delegation/chief negotiators – negotiations temporarily closed in three chapters
Brussels 27 November, 2009 - The meeting of IGC saw the temporarily closure of the negotiations in Chapters: 9 - Financial Services, 15 – Energy, and 28 – Consumer and Health Protection.


The IGC meeting was held on the level of deputy heads of delegation/chief negotiators. The Croatian delegation was led by Chief Negotiator Vladimir Drobnjak. On the part of the EU, the meeting saw the participation of representatives of the EU member states from the permanent representations to the European Communities in Brussels, led by the Swedish Permanent Representative, Christian Danielsson, as the representative of the EU presiding state, representatives of the EU Council’s General Secretariat, and representatives of the European Commission, led by Enlargement Director Michael Leigh.

Since the beginning of the accession negotiations, 28 chapters have been opened out of which 15 are temporarily closed.
