Ninth session of the ministerial-level Intergovernmental Conference – negotiation temporarily closed in two chapters
Brussels, 21 December 2009 - The meeting of IGC saw the temporarily closure of the negotiations in Chapters: 3 – Right of Establishment and Freedom to Provide Services, and 19 - Social Policy and Employment.


The session of the IGC was held on the ministerial level. The Croatian delegation was led by Head of Croatia’s State Delegation for the EU Accession Negotiations, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković. The session was chaired by Swedish ministry of foreign affairs Carl Bildt. Apart from representatives of the other EU member states and the Council’s General Secretariat, the session was also attended by the EC Enlargement Commissioner Michael Leigh.

Since the beginning of the accession negotiations, 28 chapters have been opened out of which 17 are temporarily closed.
